The protest rally in Hong Kong right now (source: twitter)

Maybe I'm mistaken but it looks like the people in HK are out protesting en masse every weekend. Not everyone can afford to take a trip to DC every weekend in the US. But, when there are giant protests in DC there are usually sister protests across all cities, but DC is the gathering hub (see 2018 women's march, March for our Lives, etc. where the total number of protesters nation wide blows the HK numbers away). There is not enough structure in the movements (unfortunately) in every city to organize and reassemble every weekend. I wish there was, but it's seriously not as simple as saying we don't "want" to protest, because a lot of us do. Another big problem is we're not facing one unifying threat centralized in a single city like they are in HK, so it appears we're being apathetic after all things considered.

I live in Northern VA and try to get out to protest at least a couple times a month, and would be out every weekend if there was a sustained effort and goal to protest Trump and his issues, but they're generally Ad Hoc...not to mention there are so many issues, that it's hard to focus on a single rallying cry. There are anti-Trump protests every day, but these people either live in the area or happen to be on vacation during them. This usually keeps them small and ignored by the media.
