Psychiatrist suggestions?

Perhaps the article is in error, but I am NOT wrong that the psychiatric community no longer believes the notion that psychiatric disorders are a matter of "neurotransmitter imbalances". If you didn't like that article, I can find a dozen more, including papers in scientific journals that will say the same. Mental illness is not like diabetes or the like. You can't just pipe in the missing ingredients and make everything ok. As far as meds working, yes they keep me from killing myself, but as far as anything else, that's about it. I can't work, have lost a significant amount of cognitive ability, and spend most of my life in bed, isolating from the world. I assure you, I am QUITE AWARE that depression is not harmless.
