In pursuing success, are you following 'money' or 'passion' ?

My previous business was strictly a money play. For over 15 years, I was buying telecom products and reselling them. Really didn't care about the products itself, mostly focused on various business principles to streamline the process. There was zero "soul fulfillment" but making serious money made up for it in many ways.

Now, my company is involved in designing and manufacturing specialized gear. Financially, I make less than 20% of what I used to make. It's growing every year. But i'm passionate about it and find it more fulfilling spiritually.

A note on passion. Whether you're passionate about your business or not, keep in mind that as a business and has having to grow the business, there will always be problems. You won't jump out every single day of year, thinking "oh, boy, can't wait to go to work".. The real difference that I found is that if you have an initial passion for what you do, your customers by being excited about your products, re-ignite your passion time after time.

That's the main difference.
