To preemptively answer the odd bot asking everyone “how did you know” well… we got tested when we came down with fevers as was the requirement for his work and for our children’s school

There was a notable difference though that my husband suffered far worse symptoms, including respiratory, and continued to test positive even after the 10 day mark (though he was made to return to work as he was no longer symptomatic). He didn’t bother testing beyond that so no clue as to how long he remained positive for. The kids and I only had high fevers for 3 days and were negative by day 5. No cough or sinus symptoms for us, just fevers that were easily managed with Tylenol and Motrin
