Wait, so now the vaccines are able to protect you all year? Trying to “follow the science” here but it keeps leading me to; “wtf?”

"Barring any new variant curve balls"

Because that never happened before...

"Some infectious disease experts are not convinced the updated vaccines will be a game-changer, because they haven't been tested enough to see how well they work."

It might not be a game changer, thats why we need to urge "everyone age 12 and older to get boosted right away to help protect themselves and the more vulnerable people around them." Not to mention that the group most affected by covid are seniors and the immunocompromised...

"I think the risk here is that we are putting all our eggs in one basket," Dr. Celine Gounder, a senior fellow at the Kaiser Family Foundation, told NPR. "We're only focusing on boosting with vaccines. I think the issue is people are looking for a silver bullet. And boosters are not a silver bullet to COVID."

If theyre not a silver bullet, then why are we putting all our eggs in one basket. People as young as 12 are now being subjected to boosters that not only may not even work well, but also the potential side effects that come with it.

"Because Congress has balked at providing addition funding to fight the pandemic, the new boosters are likely to be the last COVID shots provided for free. People who have insurance will get them covered through their policies."

Im all for universal healthcare, but if there was ever a case against it, then these COVID boosters present a strong one. Why should taxpayers be on the hook for drugs that arent thoroughly tested, not fully approved, and have no long term data. If young, healthy people are still willing to receive a vaccine with questionable efficacy and well documented adverse effects, then i have no problem for them paying out of pocket for it
