Questions about CFY opportunities?

So a staffing agency is fairly unlikely to give you more than very basic supervision--they're set up to make money off of placing you in the position, and they're known to cut corners with anything else they offer you. There are some exceptions, especially when it comes to local companies. And maybe you're okay with that anyway.

Others can feel free to disagree with me, but from what I can tell, schools and SNFs have a reputation for desperation in general. There's a lot of variation, ofc, and I wouldn't necessarily read into it that they must be especially desperate to hire a CF. Still, both are high-stress environments, and they tend to need SLPs more often than other settings.

A SNF could be a decent entry into the medical world once you have your Cs. The issue I see is that the productivity they expect is rough on anyone, and I couldn't see doing it as a CF (or now lol). But you've got to get your Cs somehow.

The ideal imho would be a hospital or clinic with a small SLP staff, and a supervisor who can give you lots of attention. I would prioritize a supervisor like that over setting, honestly. Though it can be hard to assess quality of supervision before you're in the position.

Also, I don't think anyone is pigeonholed after just a CF.
