Hi All! As a user and adopter of bitcoin payments, I wish to invite you to take part in a 10-15 minute online questionnaire, as part of academic research which intends to gather information to explore the growth and potential of digital currencies such as bitcoin. The questionnaire will gather bitcoin user insights in context to demographic variables.

The UK government’s response to the increasing use of digital currency such as bitcoin was positive; as it ‘increases banking competition in the interests of all customers. Encouraging greater innovation in payments’ (HM Treasury, 2015). Following extensive research conducted by HM treasury, the government’s response to the call for information on digital currencies was to implement proportionate anti-laundering regulation and to increase research in this field by £10million. The need for information in this field is significant in a time where financial innovations are thriving across the world; as well as to gather user opinions in the current state in usage of bitcoin.

The procedure involves filling an online survey that will take approximately 10-15 minutes. All data is stored in a password protected electronic format. To help protect your confidentiality, the surveys will not contain information that will personally identify you. The results of this study will be used for scholarly purposes only and may be shared with Coventry University representatives. Anonymised research data will be archived at Coventry University for one year in order to make them available to other researchers in line with current data sharing practices. This research has been reviewed according to Coventry University's Ethics procedures for research involving human subjects.
