I was out of the loop, and I read that thread, and I was fucking disgusted. I've never seen a Logan Paul video before, so I just assumed he was an asshole like his brother.

So I blindly sided with everyone about the hatred.
However, I found time to watch the video here and you know what, I don't think it was that bad.

He prefaced the entire video, and reiterated that this was not a joke.
He was in a high stress situation, he was staring at a dead body.
I sat at my Grandfathers dead body when he passed away, and it's a strange situation. You have no idea how to react, you look to others to find out.
Then you go to your basic coping mechanisms. A kid like Logan who is a man child, will definitely laugh and smile and try to play off what he's feeling or experiencing.
Other people may go silent. Others scared. Some may cry. And some may just copy what others do.

For those guys, coping was "joking" about it, saying it freaky and running around and such. That's a coping mechanism, and that's exactly how I cope to negative situations as well.

When I tell my life story to people about how badly my situation was in the hospital, how much pain I was in, and how I nearly died a month right after being cured. I always laugh it off, or crack jokes, or just smile the entire time I tell the story. As much as I try, I can't help it. It's very hard to speak about those things, and that's how I express my unease.

He's not being insensitive, he broke it down many times that it's serious and he brought awareness to suicide. Let's be honest, in America, we like to pretend suicide isn't there. It's a much more silent/taboo topic than bullying.

I don't think it was bad. He didn't monetize the video. He acted exactly how a couple of teens or young adults would react seeing a dead body. And they called the authorities and got out.

I kind of hate the story people are spinning this. Like he was laughing at the person who killed themselves, and making jokes about the dead body.
No, he was making jokes about the situation to cope and relax. I understand that there aren't many people who are all giddy 24/7 and laugh and skip along through life. I understand that I'm a weirdo.

But this is bullshit to hate him over, but that's the thing, people already hate him for everything else he does, so spinning this story to make him look even worse was easy for the public to digest and get behind.

I don't think he should have showed the body though. The face was blurred, but should've have showed it at all. Because psychology says when people see tragedy like suicide, it helps other people on the edge copy, and do something similar. So I hope no kids saw the video, and decided to take their own lives.

But yeah. Hate on the fact he uploaded the video still edited in that way.
Don't make the "laughing and jokes" the priority of bad criticism, because that's literally how people like us express themselves in high stress situations.
That's not fair, people are different. He could've cut it from his editing, that's fair to say, but how he expressed himself, that's completely genuine, and he wasn't being disrespectful.
