/r/steam Weekly Community Support Thread.

"Because this is totally not suspicous right? Like if I just asked for the email on the account Steam should give it to me?"

*Because they're 'support', I even sent debit cards/bank account statements to Steam.

"Why does this seem less and less like an account 'recovery' and more like a 'hijack'. Because that's what its looking like."

Lol, why do I need to 'hijack' an account with no monetary value to it? To make a quick $15? PLLLLLEEAASSEE. I'm 28 years old, and on salary. Get out of here kid, money is not an issue for myself.

"You mean they're not just outright giving you personal information on an account that you can't prove you own? Yeah because I would love it if Steam Support just randomly gave out my email and my steam account to some random hijacker because they just 'asked' Support for it Again this seems less and less like 'recovery' and a lot more like 'social engineering hijacking'. But of course your 'friend' changed the email right? Yeah are you selling bridges on the side too?"

Because they asked for a list of my possible e-mail address? Who are you to accuse me of something? I'm asking for help, not your judgement. You sound like you take Steam way too serious.

"Except for the person who you know owns the account for real right now that you're hijacking it from? Especially when you cannot prove you own the account. Again this seems a lot like you're hijacking the account not 'recovering' it."

Again, more stuff you don't know what you're talking about. Why would I publicly post this if I'm trying to 'hijack' something? Makes ZERO sense. What scammer sends their ID photo/debit card statements?

"Note "I spend a lot of money on Steam" is not only not verifieable, it doesnt magically let you bypass the security protocols for proving you own the account. If thta was the case I should be able to take ownership of your account because by god I've been on steam a lot longer than you have and have spent way more on it. Give it to me."

Never did I ask to bypass security protocols. I'm trying to provide proof of who I am.

All I did was ask for some help, not to be judged and called a thief. K bye.
