Racism and sexism at school?

I'm aware of the stats. Black and brown people are usually on the lower end of the income scale. But that wasn't even part of the discussion. The discussion was strictly that whites prefer to live with other whites and the same for other races. He could've said "the minorities live in these houses." Using the word "ghetto" added nothing to the discussion. And guess what, I grew up near other brown people and it wasn't a ghetto. It was middle class. Wouldn't that make his statement an inappropriate generalization then?

However, in your professor's time, what he's saying (that blacks live in ghettos) is 100% correct and was non-offensive at the time.

What does this even mean? In my professor's time? Non-offensive at the time? What? You make no sense.

Your focus (and the focus of SJWs, liberals, etc) completely dillutes the point of that larger issue and focuses on a less relevant point.

My focus? So this is my focus? How did you come to that conclusion. Did I say it was my focus? I'm not trying to make a grand point about racism and related issues. I'm merely responding to OP. I could care less what I dilute in your eyes or anyone else's.

they think of you being offended and conclude- correctly- that's no big deal.

Okay. Being offended is no big deal. I agree. I didn't even bring it up in school. I let it go. But what is a big deal is the inferiority complex that comes from minute instances of racism. What's offensive to you may be crippling to a child. How do I know? I lived it. My entire life I felt inferior to whites. I lived in a brown city surrounded by white cities. We had a reputation and an image none of which I asked for.

You know, I would heed your words but when you make shitty assumptions like this ...

I strongly believe your professor isn't actually racist and lacks a discriminatory intent.

... without any fucking evidence whatsoever, I'd rather not. You don't even know who the fuck I'm talking about and are basing this entirely on what? A story about one statement made in one class.
