Privacy Law Jobs and Discussion

Appreciate the advice, however I’ll be working as a PD after graduation and in my state I will be prohibited by law from taking on pro bono work or representing or working with anyone in a legal capacity who are not assigned to me by the PD’s office. First, I mentioned omnibus privacy law purposefully, I know sectoral privacy law has been around for awhile. I mentioned omnibus because prior to their passage there simply was not enough work for more than a handful of lawyers to actually practice privacy law full time. As I’ve been told by numerous partners at law firms for all intents and purposes the privacy law field did not exist as it does today until around 5 years ago. Second, rarely do employers have the resources to train people regardless of the type of work that’s not exclusive to privacy law. Which only contributes to the biggest issue in privacy law that there are not enough experienced attorneys to train entry level ones, because there has not been enough work through until the passage of an omnibus privacy law in the US five years ago for people to practice privacy law full time.
