Question for paralegals or anyone working in a big law firm

I’ve been a biglaw client, and this is an expectation. My partner usually gave me a paralegal for free for external meetings to take minutes and distribute to everyone. These are crucial for deal work to keep a record of what was agreed. This shouldn’t be seen as “bitch work” as it gives you exposure to clients and high level discussions, and should be seen as an opportunity to shadow real attorneys interacting with their clients and the opposing side. If it makes you feel any better, when the paralegals weren’t available, I had either an associate, or many times, the partners themselves, write up the minutes. Other side of the table for deals almost always had the partner write up minutes (while giving legal advice and input to negotiations).
