Ramskick's rankings of the best episode of every season

I'll be surprised if you find a bigger Africa fan on here than myself, so here goes:

Episodes 1-4

  • Young vs Old dynamic on Samburu, it builds really well, especially once Silas seals the fate of the tribe by deciding to vote with the mallrats. Also keep in mind that when you get annoyed at people like Brandon or Lindsey or Linda, it just means he's playing his role well, and that Samburu only works because the members hate each other.
  • Fear. While Samburu are busy being insane, you actually get some pretty good content on Boran in a few scenes, with one of my all time favourites being the Lion Scene in episode three. Very few scenes in my opinion can capture the real essence of "Are we actually going to survive this experience?" like the idea of a lion jumping over a Boma fence. A lot of "new school" fans don't generally appreciate scenes like this because no one suggests that the lion might be an immunity idol, but I believe you'll appreciate it.
  • I'd recommend reading "Follow the Star" before the first episode. Not only is it interesting from the Ethan perspective, but it picks up on a few other things that are quite interesting with developing storylines.

Episodes 5-7

  • Final appearances of Silas and Lindsey. Their stories end really poignantly, especially with Silas having amazing final words and Lindsey having a really emotional last episode.
  • Development of Teresa and Frank as they integrate with Ethan and Kim. Some pretty good content there. I especially enjoy the scene where Frank teaches his tribe archery, because of course Frank knows about things that involve silence and potentially killing things.
