Why is "rape apologia" considered a dirty word?

The examples they have given clearly show that they don't just mean cases in which the physical well-being of the student or someone close to them was in danger

Coercion is not limited to that in psychology. It never has been. This is not a fault in the study, this is you not agreeing with the term. They covered threats of violence in another par of the study. They are now covering the other part. If you threaten to shoot someone if they don't have sex with you that will be considered rape.

(for example exchanging food for sex in a region with famine)

It is a college.

Then we have to admit that this is highly subjective and what will and what won't count as coercion depends on the student.

This is a sociological study on coercion. To an extent it will be like that. But people are capable of thinking rationally and can answer with a general idea of what they are talking about.

As some students reject such advances this generalising statement is false; some students will feel that way, others will not.

No because people have common sense and can understand the general idea of what they are getting at. It does not mean literally beyond exception you have no choice. A highly unfair choice.

Most people will not look at this and think, well he offered me pancakes. So that is coercion. I promise you. If you were not ignoring that, I have no idea how you even looked at that and thought pancakes would count. How did you look at those examples and think pancakes and relationship issues fit in.

As well as not see the difference in normal relationship drama.

I am done here. This is ridiculous. I in all honesty believe you are trying as hard as you can to find faults in the study and in the process are going to ridiculous levels. With the irony of accusing them of overstating.

I am done, there is no way I believe you will admit fault or acknowledge it's not that bad. And I do not believe it is the studies fault.

I will not debate you anymore on this. I do ask that you go read other papers on coercion though.

I remember why I was anti-mrm an anti-anti-feminism even though I was not a feminist. I am tired of this.
