A rare type of unity

Curious, that. How most of the Western left aligns in practice with liberals against those trying to build socialism.

Every revolution that survives is attacked and slandered. There'll never be a socialism capitalists won't attack, because it's in their class interests to make everyone hate and fear it.

Ultra-leftism is harmful too. Attacking something for not being perfect doesn't help. Someone like Trotsky would've destroyed the USSR, but instead he's treated as a martyr (happens with every socialist who doesn't succeed in posing a big threat to capitalism) because he joined forces in fighting against it, and they had to take harsh measures against the internal opposition. It existed irl, so naturally it wasn't a utopia.

Then there's the anarchists who were like "all states are bad let's destroy the socialist ones first!"
