Remnants of a post about the actual presense or lack there-of for DS1 characters in DS2...

The Spider Fang item suggests that his form became something far from human, which would probably mean that he used the old paledrake soul to fuse his soul to the spider's and became a huge two headed spider. The spider, the Duke, and the remnants of the soul are all 3 Tark's master. It's a combination being, with two heads. The person in the studies may be his body or someone else. if it's his body then it'd mean his soul was fused into the spider's. the old paledrak soul would drive the duke to do all that crazy human fusion stuff (the spidermen in brightstone cove, the scorpion duo) to something personal to himself, while his mind is driven by the madness of the old soul. The thing about it not being a greatsoul was an anecdote, since freja is actually not the great soul of the area, ancient dragon's corpse is. (Seath wasn't truely a lord, see it's like poetry it rhymes)

The sinner looks like a scraggly bug. the prisoner looks like an old man head to toe.

long old man beard, super broad shoulders with a narrow waist. (Anatomy thing: women's waists expand outward and the angle of their leg joints shifts as they go through puberty into adulthood, that's why you can tell biological gender from their skeleton.)

The item description that says she is the sword, not the penal set.

"An ultra greatsword forged from the soul of the Lost Sinner. It's blade saps the life of its wielder. The true nature of this sword is unknown, even to the Lost Sinner herself. Those who choose this sword will share the burden of the Lost Sinner's misdeeds."

The association is to knowledge of the sword, which would mean a brain bug being the sinner would be a consistent use of language in this case.

The presence of THIS bug proves something, because it is special. Not all bugs are special, but the bug resting on the penal mask is special, as it is the same kind of bug that the bed of chaos was (you can compare the models) About the first flame, since the witch of izalith created a new first flame, wouldn't that mean that now it could be observed that there are two first flames? The Sinner would have two first flames they could have attempted this on, and if the first flame they relight was the izalith one, then the bug thing would be their fate, with the revival of chaos. (Since the other two dlc's are connected to one of the great souls, and the ancient dragon great soul has its own greater connection to the main story with dragon aerie, it would leave Ivory Crown DLC to be a connection to the remaining great soul, just in another location)
