Sign up for literally anything. Go find a D&D game. Rock climbing people are always looking for partners. Sports, book clubs, freakin music, whatever, if you have anything resembling a hobby, you can find a group of like minded individuals who are doing it.

Hell, I know of an anime group in my city filled with the most unattractive and socially awkward people you've ever met, and they are living their best life.

You want to keep people chained to their commute and office just because you are too lazy to go out and find friends?
