While I disagree with her post, historically there has been beef between Hebrew revivalists and Yiddish speakers. The Zionist group, the Army for the Defense of the Hebrew Language, violently rioted at a Yiddish movie. They also actively and aggressively worked to suppress the Yiddish language.

There are still Yiddish haters in Israel who get triggered by Yiddish existing. I don't think they're as aggressive as they used to be.

Anyway y'all should learn and help preserve one of the many diaspora languages of our people so that, at the very least, any literature, music, poetry, film, theatre and historical documents can be preserved.
