Rodgers: Reds must “decide between a business model or a winning model”

First up I wanted Rodgers to go but solely because Klopp was too good of an opportunity to miss. People here saying Rodgers is bitter etc are way off.

The guy has never had a bad word to say about the club and doubt he ever will. He explains here about the transfer committee and the club's model for buying young players to develop and 'move on'. He also explains why the club took Balotelli. Good insight into what went on.

Unusually for YouTube there are a couple of interesting comments.

Ahmad Hosny: "FSG logic = moneyball will make us profit, and that's more important than actually having a good team... they're obsessed with money so ok lets break it down in their terms

"reality is that moneyball doesn't get you titles, and when you don't have titles then your club isn't a brand, and when your club isn't a brand then no one serious wants to sponsor you or give you serious cash, so you're back to square 1 of wasting money and being unprofitable.

"any team that wins league titles, cups, european trophies etc doesn't have an average age of 23 like liverpool has, that's just a fact... every successful team needs a blend of experience and potential, with the average age somewhere around 26-29... unfortunately the more FSG are obsessed with moneyball, the more difficult it will be for liverpool to be successful."

LIVERNIL723: "This is what I don't like about FSG and Rodgers in this interview mentions how he would develop a player/s then 'move them on'. That makes us a selling club. When you look at longevity, only 2 players now remain the longest in serving their employment at Liverpool - one being Lucas Leiva, and the other Martin Skrtel. That in itself tells it's own story when it comes to retention and continuity. This side of it is a mess at the moment when you look at the number of players on loan along with the injuries in recent that have piled up. It leaves us with a threadbare squad and it also makes you question where we are with the academy and kids given the opportunity to break into the first team."
