While I do strongly believe the match was fully a testing ground for the youth and fringe players (and a chance to give them some high level experience), it proved what we all already know - our depth is nonexistent.

We need to be able to challenge across all fronts, but we can’t do it with our existing depth. We need to sign an attacking RB (Tanganga has the defensive side covered, we need to sell Aurier, and we need an attacking RB), another CB (and get rid of CCV), another CM (and get rid of one/both of Sissoko/Winks), a DM (one that could form a back three with the CBs when we’re in attack so that we’re not totally reliant on having one of our backs stay defensive), and winger (Berg/Lucas/Gil won’t cut it if Son will be getting a lot of time at striker), and a striker (regardless of if Kane leaves, so that he’s ready to lead the line next summer).

I don’t think we need top players in all of these positions, just decent players that we can hopefully get for £10M-£25M. I also don’t think all that will happen unless we sell Kane (and I still hope we do, since we need so much help everywhere else on the pitch).
