The bottom line is im trying to get a NY legal rifle thats well rounded for all situations (shooting at the range, home defense, SHTF and maybe some hunting) I know its a tough as but I think a bolt action scout mode is my best bet. Im not a super gun guy, I never owned gun until they passed the semi auto ban I was absolute shock that a right that existed just a little while also is now gone , I can see the writing on the wall. pretty soon we probably wont be able to get anything without registering. so im trying to buy a few all rounder guns. I bought a ruger rimfire .22 for cheap target practice, next is the .223 and a shotgun and im calling it a day. Im not trying to stockpile a ton of guns, just 1-2 solid ones thatll fit most situations.
