What is one movie that has a very bad public rep and critical reviews, but you actually love? And why?

Godzilla (2014) received a bad rap. The main complaints were that the main character was uninteresting, and that they kept cutting away during the monster fights. I agree with the first point (they shouldn't have killed off Bryan Cranston's character so early on in the movie), but I like the fact that they barely showed Godzilla and the MUTOs until the end. It made it that much more mysterious during the movie, and it was so satisfying at the end when Godzilla and the MUTOs finally fought. Plus the cinematography of the movie is incredible, as is the monster design and the sound design. Would definitely recommend watching it.
