As an American who lived in Europe a chunk of my life, I get your sentiment, but now’s not the time to put our heads in the sand. I’m a dual-national and would happily join up in the UK, if it was necessary. This isn’t a game anymore and he’s more dangerous than Saddam, Bin Laden and any other middle eastern boogeyman in our lifetime (I’m an elder millennial). I don’t want war, didn’t fight in Afghanistan or Iraq because I didn’t agree. But, this is a really dangerous spot and destabilizes an entire continent to an extent we haven’t seen since WWII. Our adversaries and enemies are watching. If we don’t act with decisiveness, the pax Americana advantages you, your parents and grandparents enjoyed will cease to exist. It fucking sucks. I’m no hawk and I hope we can avoid full-scale war, but this guy’s fucking bonkers.
