Literally every German when they find out about tipping in the U.S.

Well my lived experience is very different from yours, it seems.

Guns are everywhere where I live, and I've even had one pulled on me before. I've also been subject to a number of illegal detentions and have seen the inside of the justice system due to simple possession. I've been teargassed by the SWAT team in my city. I had more than one gay friend get beat up in high school for being just that - gay. A couple of years ago a police officer murdered an innocent woman in her home just a few blocks from where I stay - Atatiana Jefferson - feel free to look up that case. I also had another innocent man, Botham Jean, get shot in his own apartment around the same time just a few blocks from my place of work.

I spent the better part of my 20's renting from slumlords, was laughed out of the room when in high school I confessed to some friends that I had been raped at a house party, and I can't afford to fix my back that I destroyed in my younger years working hard manual labor jobs. I drive a 15 year old car with a dash lit up like a Christmas tree, but the public transit in my city is so poor that I don't have a choice but to drive everywhere.

My state has banned abortion, continues to criminalize marijuana use and is debating banning drag shows. Our power grid is privatized so it fails a couple times a year it's not uncommon for ICE to roll through my neighborhood looking to kidnap my neighbors.

I'm very glad that YOUR experience in America has been peachy-keen. I can't say it's the same for everyone else.
