Scholarship negotiation

I am immensely grateful for *****s scholarship offer of *****. However, I am really concerned about debt upon graduation. I want to attend law school to help patients who don’t have the power to help themselves. In complete candor, I do not anticipate making a high salary in the public service sector. With this in mind, I want to ensure that the cost of law school does not prohibit me from doing the work I really want to do. High levels of debt might make this kind of career untenable. Currently, between tuition and living costs, I would be in ***** of debt at *****, waiving health insurance each year. ***** has offered me ***** per year, totaling ***** dollars of scholarship money. Even with *****’s higher tuition, this brings the total debt at *****to $ ***** over three years. I am already trying to offset this debt by applying for external scholarships, but even if I was lucky enough to receive a few of these scholarships, I would still be in a significant amount of debt.
As I pick my law school, these considerations are weighing on me. I acknowledge that the conditions between the scholarships are different. With this in mind, even though ***** may include more debt, it may be worth the higher risk. Still, I am finding it difficult to choose nearly ***** dollars of additional debt. So, I am inquiring if ***** would be able to match 1/2 of the difference between these two scholarship offers, which totals *****dollars. If ***** could increase the scholarship amount to $ ***** I would put down my seat deposit for the class of 2026 immediately and withdraw from all my waitlists and acceptances, including *****, *****, *****, and *****. ***** is my top option and it would be such a privilege to be on campus in August.
