Well, personally for me, I had to develop multiple sclerosis, which came with brain lesions that can cause absence seizures that can each last anywhere from a minute to 5 minutes (and a rapid series of them can last much longer.) They can be triggered by extended screen time. This also meant I had to give up my teaching credential and a career I’d built over 13 years, as I am not allowed to be in charge of a classroom unless and until I can go 6 months seizure free—which won’t happen, given that brain lesions don’t heal. I had to leave the kids I loved in the middle of a school year and I had to sell my house and move back into a rental to be near the one neurologist in the state who could take me as a patient. I can’t drive anymore, and during COVID I’ve practically become a prisoner in my own home. I’m lucky because I have RRMS rather than a progressive form, but I don’t know what my future looks like. At 36, I’d still like to get married and have a family and there’s a big question mark over that now at the end of a sentence that says different things on different days (“Selfish?” “Good idea?” “Bad idea?” “Implications?”)

In exchange for that, I was given that minor test accommodation.
