Cause many apps are not optimized on android. I look for those apps that are smooth as silk cause there are tons of options. For example relay for Reddit is as smooth as android animations get, I use kiwi browser instead of Google chrome. I side loaded few apps that are not available on play store cause of their insane features and are much better in aesthetic too compared to the default app. On android, you need to have good knowledge of your options and customizations. Everything will get better and better if you can find things either from play store or by side loading. Android certainly is not as convenient as iOS for people like you though. But for people who can gather pieces and bits from everywhere and arrange their own set up, it's freaking heaven.
