Below are spoilers for Season 3:

But because David is in the maze, he is no longer a threat to Farouk. So, at this point in the show, Farouk's seemingly won. Farouk's opponent, David, is gone. There's no one stopping Farouk from getting his (Farouk's) body back. Farouk has won.

But Farouk goes out of his way to make David leave the maze.

There's diff ways to interpret this. Imo it heavily implies that Farouk doesn't want to 'defeat' David.
