Honestly I think all of the semantics of these arguments go out the window when you're talking about two psychic individuals fucking with someone's mind. Who's to say who's making whose decisions? Both Farouk and David psychically manipulated her to at least some level, without her consent.

Psychic manipulation to the point where you can make people do things, want to murder loved ones, forget choices they've made, that's the hardest core crime of all. People are so focused on everything else, but I think it's all silly when you know both Farouk and David were trespassing and vandalizing her fucking head.

At least intent wise, I think David thought that Farouk psychically made her hate him and he thought he "fixed" her by removing those memories. Doesn't mean he's not to blame for fucking with her head, but I think at least the intent was not selfish as much as trying to undo Farouk's damage.
