Is it possible to get a job with a really good portfolio/ demo reel instead of a degree?

Adding opportunity info, for kiwis you can get yourself a 2 year working visa for Canada with barely any red tape and cheap for what it's worth if you're under 35 (or 30, I get confused between the NZ, AUS & Irish rules). There is just SO much opportunity in Vancouver or Montreal. UK and US have a lot of opportunity but is more work for the visa side.

Do it before you hit the age limit! Sponsoring visas is a thing, but there's way more red tape and the company also has to put in all the effort and cost, so you'd have to be worth that effort.

As much as everyone here complains about those companies like MPC they also are great for starter artists to get experience. Obviously go for better studios, but just saying there's a lot of graduate/learner opportunities at the shitkickers too.

Australia is also always an option since you don't even need a working visa, but no where near the opportunities.
