Second Breast Cancer Diagnosis

I've also had it twice - two completely different breast cancers! The first was discovered in summer of 2020, and the second in the summer of 2021. Just like yours, they were two completely different cancers. The second one was discovered at the one year follow up from the first one. And right on time, I have a biopsy of a suspicious lymph node scheduled for this Friday.

They have treated both cancers like completely different issues that have nothing to do with each other. I got slightly more expansive treatment for the second one because it was bigger, but otherwise I was told to take tamoxifen and do yearly mammograms. They don't seem to treat me differently from someone who just had one cancer, as far as I can tell, though I had a primary care doctor I was seeing earlier this year who kept x-raying me for every little thing because she was ultra paranoid. I don't think her reaction was typical.
