Living in a capital city in a very violent area and saw a lot of violence every day. already have ptsd from violent abuse. Falling asleep and heard a scream outside, a woman had been beaten with a brick by her partner who ran. I held her and rocked her and was covered in her blood, she was fading and it took two hours for the ambulance to come. By that time she wasn't speaking and was barely holding on. I don't know if she lived, but like you I knew it was time to leave. I think if you're someone with a big heart and sensitive to others, their emotions seep into us..
