Considering moving to Seattle

ok, i have to call this out as a terrible way of thinking.

i live in the north end (greenlake) and have a wonderful neighborhood filled with endless families and good people. we have a great selection of schools, parks within walking distance, easily bikeable to a huge amount of other parks and events and spaces, options for shopping and entertainment, and everything that the city provides. i have kids that are growing up and loving their lives and it's a great place to have a family. saying that living in Seattle is not for people with families is crazy talk.

there are challenges. i'd like to see the city's response improve to drugs/crime/homelessness. there are cost challenges as it is more expensive than other areas. but there are definite pluses to living in the city.

i would tell the OP to consider it, i know she's worried about the seattle cost of living, but we all don't know her financial picture.
