Serious question: Do you hear other hikers crying loudly at night when sleeping at or near shelters during a thru-hike?

I have pretty bad PTSD from my time in Afghanistan that usually present as nightmares where I am surrounded by combat. Sometimes it feels like the universe is bullying me, because I do everything I can to escape these demons, but then I still end up getting slapped around in my dreams.

I'm currently hiking (taking a zero in town) and I had my first balls to the wall nightmare about a week in. I woke up crying around 4 or 5 in the morning, I buried my face as deep as I could into my sleeping bag, tried holding my breath to subdue the panic. Lasted about an hour. I think the guy closest to me heard me crying, we became really good friends after that. I cleaned myself up before leaving the tent, and he was just kind of hanging out. Offered me some tea, asked me questions about how I was doing physically, it was nice. We hung out hiking for about a week after that until I got a little injured and needed to rest.
