[Serious] Redditors who have overdosed - what was it like and how did it change you? Do you still use drugs?

Throwaway because I'm not very proud of this story. I OD'd on alcohol on my 21st birthday in college. To preface that, I had been partying hard since I was 15 so this wasn't a drop in the bucket, but a big eye opener. As most college kids, I thought i was invincible and could literally drink until I dropped and be just fine. On my 21st birthday, I gathered my closest 30 friends and rented a party bus to shuttle us around our college bar town. We started drinking early that day and being the birthday person, by the time we got on the bus and started out that night I was already close to blacking out. Fast forward to around midnight and we are all taking copious amounts of shots at the bar, next thing I remember it's 6AM and i'm in the ICU. Anything after this I learned from the medical records because I don't remember it. Apparently I got bored of shots and wanted to try out another bar. The official medical report says I was found unresponsive on the sidewalk and an ambulance was called by a friend. I arrived at the hospital with a BAC of .42 and was legally dead for 2 minutes. During my stay they pumped my stomach and set me up in the hospital. When I came to in the morning, a nurse strolled up to me and asked me if I knew what was going on.. I did not and she filled me in. I tried to leave but my BAC was at a .37 and they wouldn't release me without a ride home.. long story short I had a very silent ride home from a police officer who informed me of how dumb I was. That was a long time ago and I have slowed way down on the party life in my older age. I mark that as the day I noticed a crack in my impermeable "youth armor"
