Should I study Anthropology or Psychology?

I think you somehow confused the study of the history of a culture with the study of the mind and consciousness which has nothing to do with anthropology which is a historical lens. Saying anthropology is the study of consciousness is like saying you can somehow read into the mind of people that you’ve never met, and project opinions on something, anthropology doesn’t work like that. You don’t get to redefined something just because you think they’re related due to a lack of your education trust me I have a very clear understanding of what anthropology is and nothing that you talked about is anthropology it’s history psychoanalysis, philosophy and psychology.

Anthropology is closer to a history lesson and almost no psychoanalysis.

Anthropology also includes the study of language it also includes gender roles and food and housing and clothing and rituals and it’s the kind of stuff that archaeologists would love to have there’s very little minuscule study of psychoanalysis it’s all very objective study.

Anthropology can involve certain guesstimation of what was there but it’s really an empirical study of the history of a culture and how the culture formed. No offense but it’s not up to you what you think anthropology is there’s words and words have meanings and definitions because you just don’t understand what anthropology is if you think it has anything to do with the mind or consciousness that psychology and psychoanalysis and philosophy.

Definition: Anthropology is the study of the origin and development of human societies and cultures. Culture is the learned behavior of people, including their languages, belief systems, social structures, institutions, and material goods.
