I love my dad a whole lot but he has this tendency to be very over familiar with people he absolutely does not know and I don’t think he understands how it can come off. Not overly familiar in a physical way! But if we’re out for dinner at a restaurant, there’s weird jokes and weird banter with the female servers. I’ve been a server and I loathed those types of people where you’re expected to smile and laugh charmingly at their ridiculous jokes. “Haha, never heard that one!” It doesn’t matter where I go with my dad, he doesn’t read that not everyone wants to chat or be joked with. It’s weird. And embarrassing.

I understand on the grand scheme of things, this isn’t the worst, but it still makes me cringe when he can’t clearly read people’s (mostly women’s) reactions to be talked at by some boomer.
