Seattle University false promises degree

My understanding (as a student in this program) is that these students were told they would receive their MSN while working towards their DNP but that turned out to be false. Instead, these students were given their BSN instead. The lawsuit includes a handful (three, I believe) of former students plus one current student. What I am unclear about is why the former students did not stay to complete their DNP...? If they were working towards their MSN, only to find out that they could only receive their BSN, then this makes sense (and is awful) but if they were DNP students, why didn't they keep going? Mistrust and not wanting to continue? But the interview with one of the students makes it sound like she graduated and had diploma in hand...anyways, that's where I get confused. I'm a DNP student there now and arrived after those false promises were made so this is all news to us. But the DNP and BSN program is in good standing...for now. Honestly, it's a mess and even if you have only been there a few quarters, you have sunk tens and tens and tens of thousands of dollars into it...there's no way to stop once you thrown in that much money. Regardless, the school owes them the tuition and lost wages...not to mention the blood sweat and tear they put into the quarters that counted towards nothing. YIKES. Anyways, I guess I'll go study for midterms.......
