Do some public transit advocates in the US focus a bit too much on BRT compared to other modes of transit as a means to improve transit mobility

If ST had more control over their schedule and track-rights it looks like Sounder south could be a possibly be a rather solid route, to the point that people may even perceive link to be inferior. I don’t live in Tacoma though so do you think this could be the case?

Sounder north on the other hand just sucks I’ve attempted to rely on it before and honestly just hate it. Makes only like 3 stops on the way and still takes an hour if not more. Shuts down for weeks if not months when mudslides happen. And the schedule is just bad. The Sounder buses are better but even with HOV lanes peak commute can be a nightmare

Weirdly enough when Everett link opens it will take about the same time to get to Seattle while making a bazillion more stops along the way

I agree with everything you said though. Everett is building out a lot of swift bus routes and yeah their buses but at the end of the day I’m just glad that they’re frequent enough to be useful.
