Sorry if I ask for too much help, but how can I deal with these things?

/r/NewToTF2 doesn't have any sort of limit on how new you are! It's more of a friendly no-stupid-questions kind of place. Also yeah, 200 hours is still pretty newbie compared to some of us! I just got to 1400 hours and I still have a TON to learn.

  1. How do I deal with all the pyros just using degreaser + reserver shooter? or any secondary with fire? I just can't get a break, I walk in, shot up into the air, immediately killed it seems if I'm not a pyro.
    • What class are you playing? Try to stay right outside of their airblast/fire range should be enough. Try to move unpredictably and shoot at them unpredictably.
  2. I just can't hit people, especially as scout. Every time I meet someone I can't get a good lock on them. I'm playing on a low sensitivity and lowered it, but I could barely move around with it. Is there some trick? Some magical lock on button I have missed?
    • Making your sensitivity too low or too high probably isn't good. If you're going scout v scout, aim by strafing instead of flicking your crosshair. Most importantly you just need to practice with one sensitivity that's comfortable for you.
  3. Is there any tricks for TF2 I need? I mean, maybe I just played with pro players or something. I saw some guy called UGS Firefly and he was doing good. I think he was camping spawn, but whatever. I did too once, everyone does once.
    • Not really, just focus on surviving instead of trying to get kills. Avoid 1v1s and try to never let yourself get into a position where you're outnumbered. Eventually you'll start feeling comfortable enough to take risks, but don't take ones that aren't heavily in your favor.
  4. What do I do with the spare items I have? I don't really use a lot of them.
    • Keep them, you'll probably want to use them sometime. If you have duplicates, craft them into scrap metal and then craft that into reclaimed metal and then into refined metal. You can check out Scrap.tf which will do the conversion for you conveniently.

But yeah, don't feel uncomfortable about taking advantage of /r/NewToTF2, we'd love to see you over there!
