Spanish woman in UK for 44 years sacked over post-Brexit rules

My parents were immigrants, I would have preferred to remain in the EU, I'm not even ethnically British or even white but the last few weeks anglophobia on this subreddit has been so disheartening to see. I come to this sub to see cool photos of places I haven't seen in Europe, to hear about history and read about major events happening in the rest of Europe, but any thread relating to Brexit or the UK lacks an iota of nuance and is immediately derailed.

The sad thing about that thread is it was predicated on a complete lie. Apperantly Schiphol airport did have some issues which caused the long queue time that were completely unrelated to Brexit. Amsterdam’s Schipol airport has confirmed that it has not made any changes for British travellers entering the Netherlands since Brexit day, despite a viral tweet from a UK account claiming people were being forced to wait in immigration for an hour.

Of course, by the time the truth came out likely thousands and thousands of people have seen it, not just on reddit and twitter but it on articles by the evening standard, the independent, etc. How these large news companies failed to fact check the story before potentially millions will see it is beyond me.
