[Spoilers] If there's one thing you could change about your favorite Inquisition romance option..

I went far longer than I wanted to, so TL:DR version: I'd take any of these three things, with one being much easier to implement than the others: An option to not be embarrassed when you're interrupted on the ramparts, some acknowledgement of the Fade event at Adamant preferably while you're still at Adamant, or some better lighting at the lake.

On to the post, I am actually going to disagree with Recidiva to some extent.

I would have been really happy if that first kiss scene gave the 'quiz the opportunity to either be embarrassed like she is or to step up and make up some story for why Cullen is going to rip his messenger a new one. I desperately wanted to jump in there and save that poor guy with some BS like I'd told him blood mages weren't all that bad and that got him riled up. I'm cool with what happens after the messenger leaves, though. He italicsdiditalics surprise you after you may have already decided the moment had passed and you no longer wanted it. So being a gentleman, the apology works. I felt like your responses were good enough after he kisses you to deal with it. His, as well.

I did the Winter Palace before Adamant and his "I know it was foolish to worry" fit at the stage I felt he and the Inquisitor were at. It never really felt like my character or her pals' lives were exactly threatened there, either. He needed to worry about how I'd handle things socially, especially as a Dalish elf to whom this is all alien, but not on the physical side. I appreciate that he was concerned, but he didn't need to be.

Now for Here Lies the Abyss, that's another story. Someone else mentioned that Josie has pretty much nothing to say after you come out of the Fade at Adamant and Cullen's not that much different. FFS, the man was there with you and probably had his heart stop when he saw the dragon and the back half of the fortress fall into a giant Fade rift created out of thin air. Then the Wardens surrender and he'd get news pretty fast of what had happened. Annnnnd nothing. You get plenty of good worried/relieved embraces later as the game goes on but man I would have appreciated something from him when you come back from the Fade, still at Adamant. Even if it required him asking for a "word in private" after everything is settled just so he can take you to a quiet corner and give you a bear-hug and a "Thank the Maker you're alright." Or, give the 'quiz a chance to have some agency and show him how worried you were that you might not make it back.

Moving on with my book here... I think "Forgive me" worked well and Staleina summed up my thoughts. That, and I like to assume he's confident that he's about the best you can get for the commander of your troops. He's going to resign and put you in a tough spot. He better damn well ask for my forgiveness if he's going to pull that in the middle of this thing, without any back-up lined up (going on assumption as one's never mentioned, though he really is too smart for that). Yes, of course I'm going to have compassion for the why of it, but I'm also miffed that he left Cassandra to tell me this.

I'm meh on the coin. It's sweet and I'm fine with it, but I'm meh. And there needed to be some sun or moonlight or something. That was such a depressing, gloomy lake. That lake in Crestwood is much nicer than it is in that cutscene, especially once the sun's out there.
