This comment is all my point of view, to me it seems you are missing the entire point of s2, it isn't supposed to move the large aspect of the plot, as Esmail said, this season focuses on character development not plot development, it sets up the next "stage" so to speak in the show, I have no doubt season 3 will include a lot of plot movement but they had to set it up, we needed to know how far Mr. Robot was willing to go, we needed to see Angela's motives turn, every character is now set with a clear objective and goal going into season 3, Angela is team White Rose, Mr. Robot is working on finishing the 5/9 hack, Elliot is presumably in a coma or severely injured and can't really do much at the moment, we saw Tyrell turn from the typical corporate guy to team Fsociety. If Season 2 didn't happen, the whole show wouldn't make sense. And I see a lot of people saying the show messes with people just for the sake of it but that is simply not true in my opinion, the show was supposed to be a movie, Esmail clearly has an end goal and everything is done with purpose, also, I don't think every person who is getting a bit disgruntled with the show's direction are automatically not intelligent, however, I do think a lot of them shouldn't watch the show if all they want is plot, because characters in this show need to be developed as it deals with emotional loss, mental disorder, and those things need to be addressed, that's what makes this show great to me. When this show is done it will be looked upon as a masterpiece because it takes it's time and doesn't force anything, if you aren't willing to be patient and enjoy the journey each character has of finding their identity, true desires, and then executing them, then don't watch, and for some reason the "don't watch" comment angers a lot of people, but why? If you don't like something don't watch it, a lot more people enjoy the show than dislike it and the show was good enough to be nominated for best drama, and have their main character win for best actor, so understand the show your watching, and that it deals with a much larger scale than just a story about hackers, and enjoy it for that, because we won't see many shows like this any time soon. I mean no offense, and yes this was long, but this is my opinion. Thanks for the read and I hope you decide to watch S3 because it will jump straight into plot movement presumably, but this season was not filler, it was the set up. With Thanksgiving coming, the great way to describe it is making the food, while you make the food you may be annoyed with how long it takes and just want to eat, but in the end you will want those fun days back of cooking with your family, get through the journey to get to the destination.
