Sorry to hear it. I wish you luck but I wouldn't get my hopes up. My wife has had two very nice bikes stolen within a couple years of each other. Both locked up in secure parking garages. She was in tears both times. We never got them back though each time I drove around town hoping to catch a glimpse of the thief riding it and make him pay for those tears. As you probably know theft is rampant in this city and the police can't be bothered to do shit about it even if you have the thief in sight with the stolen merchandise. And with the police apathy I have personally witnessed even when it comes to responding to violent fights I wouldn't have thought twice about beating a bike thief bloody in broad daylight and taking back my own property without fear of any legal repercussions. Anyway, enough ranting. Renter's insurance covered them both but they dropped our coverage after paying out the second claim (thanks a lot, assholes). But like you said the money isn't the issue.
