Two tentative ideas

Venom - Anko has a heart to hear with Sasuke while he is in the hospital and persuades him to reject the Sound Four's offer to run away with them. Realizing she needs to step up her game and provide a good example to this kid she has essentially adopted as an apprentice, Anko sets off with the Sauce (with Tsunade's blessing) to find Ryuchi Cave and learn senjutsu. An excuse to write a) non-slutty "whacky" Anko b) non-traitor Sasuke and c) force together two characters who would normally never interact.

Stinger - When Guy suffers a stinger after getting dropped on his head during a run-in with some Cloud-nin and can't get medically cleared to take on a new genin team, he goes to Kakashi and half-begs/half-browbeats Kakashi into taking Neji, Lee, and TenTen under his wing. Kakashi has his work cut out for him between Lee's enthusiasm, Neji's cynicism, and his own history with TenTen's mother. Things go from bad to worse when Kakashi takes the team AWOL to find Tsunade in the hopes of healing Guy's neck, and they find themselves hunted by everyone under the sun who is trying to get their hands on a healthy pair of Byakugan. Another opportunity to write characters who don't have much (or any) interaction in the source material.
