Counterpoint: I tried the Ergodox EZ full-time for two weeks and my hands got much worse. Switched to KA2 and the pain was gone almost immediately. That was 6 years ago and I still love my KA2.
My point being: ergonomics are a deeply personal thing, not everyones body/hands are the same. E.g. I have extremely large hands, what works for me may not work for you and vice versa. I 100% believe you, but it's not a universal truth for everyone.
My recommendation is always to try out different things and if a single product doesn't help to try and regularly switch between multiple different ones.
And if you can, ask a friend or coworker if you can try out their keyboard for a few days. I've let people try mine for a few weeks full-time, as I realize it's a really expensive purchase.
