Why is this sub so much more active than other electronic genres?

Trap came out and it was pretty simple in concept, just listen to any 2008-2012 trap music and it's all pretty simple.

It wasn't the sound design or complexity that drew people into that type of music, for me personally, hearing that sort of down tempo 2 step flow with booming 808's with a relatively simple melody felt so much different than the mainstream 4 step popular EDM of that period.

Artists continued to iterate on that formula and people found an immense appreciation for taking that simple concept and evolving it and pushing the boundaries in terms of not only sound design but composition.

The term "trap music" is such an antique term now, this subreddit isn't at all about trap, it's just about recognizing artists who continue to push on the formula on what we understand as "music" in general.

I'd consider this subreddit to be the most progressive when it comes to the idea of the evolution of sound.
