It's substantial to be apart of Islam, I can't imagine not being Muslim.

You say you are not making a controversial opinion, yet you admit you are generalizing.

Generalizations are not inherently incorrect or unethical. Saying all Asians are smart is neither of those because their culture is very deeply rooted in academic excellence and it wouldn't be controversial to state so.

The reason I believe my statements aren't controversial is because I didn't say that any of that was bad, just that it was different from an Islamic point of view. I believe, as I originally stated, that without a fixed ideology you're led into a situation whereby you make your own morals and follow your own personal beliefs, shaped by your own personal experiences. These can often clash with others who've been down that same path. If, from birth, you grow up following Islamic beliefs on family values and respect and so on, you'd never think of disrespecting your parents in the way that someone who does not believe their life can be held accountable by anybody other than themselves, as is the case in the scenario I detailed just before.

I said the accountability thing because Western society is athiestic today.

(which you have left undefined)

Caucasian. That's why I said "non-ethnic Westerners".

Frankly, your deingration of "the West" as a place which vaguely devalues basic familial customs is as insulting as it is to say the same about Islam.

It's hard to have a discussion with someone who isn't actually in front of you and you don't know, because I don't know who you are, or where you're from, or on what authority you say the things that you do. I have lived most of my life in the West, and I have seen the disproportionate amount of divorces, adultery, drug and alcohol abuse there is here. That's not to say there's none of that in the Islamic world but you're kidding yourself if you believe families hold far greater value in the West than in ethnic countries.

Also, you keep trying to hammer this point that the same sort of accusations could be said about Islam but you're just dead wrong on that which is why we're having this conversation in the first place.
