2013: Beau Isaac only lived to be 2 years old when 8 year old family pit brutally mauled him. He would be 11 if he was still here. Tragic, but at least his family don’t blame him at all. And they have since educated themselves and advocated about the genetic danger of pits. No child deserves this.

can't find a golden listed among the breeds responsible (to be fair, it only lists the last 3 years)

The Wikipedia list is highly incomplete. C'mon, I personally know of deaths that are not on that list.

Forbes has a list of most dangerous breeds that also does not mention goldens

I never said or even implied that Golden Retrievers are the most dangerous, or among the most dangerous breeds. What I said is "they're still big dogs capable of easily killing a child, as they have multiple times" which is a factual statement.

A few months back, I recall finding a few news stories that cited fatal attacks by golden retriever mixes but it included photos of the dogs and they were very, very clearly pit mixes or at the very least some type of mixed breed. I'll try to find it again.

I'll post a few, but I won't play the "it's not a real golden retriever" game that pitnutters.

Anyways, this is r/banpitbulls, and I'm not here to argue that golden retrievers are a dangerous breed, because I don't believe that. My point was simply that saying "You will never have to worry about a golden retriever mauling your child death" is dangerous. Children need to be taught dog safety regardless of breed, for the sake of the child and the dog.
