Some untouchable aristocrat or aristocrats should quietly and sweetly set about reviving the nationwide network of Anglican little local churches. By getting them cleaned and repaired, and by filling them with flowers, and by filling them with even more flowers for every wedding, and by being seen there, shaking a few hands and smiling.

The existing network or branch system of Britain's churches is already in place, just neglected, tired, sparsely attended and filled with only old people. But this network offers a place for Brits to go and meet and to talk and feel they are a united people.

Only aristocrats have the money and the social untouchability to revive this network. If even one of them lurks here, please consider investing time and personal energy and personal presence into leading and comforting your people.

It is not for me to lecture anybody, but if it were, I might call this a duty. I might also call it self-preservation. Nobody can argue with self-preservation.

It should be quiet and very sweet in flavor. It should emphasize what is pretty: flowers. It should harness the still persistent British love for pomp and rank. Nothing wrong with that if it is used correctly.
